Whether a tear is created overtime due to usage of heavy earrings or the earlobe is stretched out due to ear gauges, the earlobe can still be restored.  The earlobe repair procedure is done under local anesthesia in the office.  There is minimal discomfort.  Patients just take tylenol or ibuprofen if they do have discomfort.  Sutures are removed in about 10 days.  After 3 months the ear can be repierced in the normal tissue, not in the scar because it’s not as strong as scarless tissue. (See before and after photos of earlobe repair)
