One of the main reasons that Dr. Tran doesn’t perform tummy tuck and BBL together is the positioning during surgery. To perform both procedures, she needs full access to your front (for the tummy tuck) and your back side (for the BBL.)
No matter which procedure is first, the other one requires positioning you directly on the area just worked on. Dr. Tran prefers to set you up for success by avoiding pressure on the area she just operated on.
Of course, the positioning problem also applies to your recovery at home. Following a BBL, you can’t sit or lie on your butt, so people recovering from that surgery usually spend all their time sleeping flat on their stomachs.
With a tummy tuck, we generally recommend sleeping on your back. Constantly sleeping on your side isn’t a great solution, as you could still roll over to your belly or back during the night.
